Why most updates happen automatically, and why a platform administrator — not your workspace admin — approves the rare one that needs review.

What this does

Explains the two different things that can happen when a new version of an app is available.

Who can do this

This applies regardless of your role — the important distinction is what kind of update it is.

What happens next

Ordinary app updates — the overwhelming majority — apply automatically, with nothing for anyone in your workspace to click. You may see an informational notice that an app was updated, but there is no action to take.

The one exception is when a new version asks for access to more of your workspace's data than the version you're currently running — an expanded permission request. That specific approval is a platform-level decision, made by Staffintra's own platform administrators, not by your workspace's tenant admin or owner. If your workspace previously saw a "Review & apply" control for this, that control is intentionally not available to tenant admins/owners anymore — approving a change to what an app can access is treated the same way app publishing itself is: a platform-level responsibility, not a tenant-level one.

Important notes

  • You do not need to do anything to receive ordinary app updates — they happen on their own schedule.

  • If an app you use needs an expanded permission approved, that's handled on the platform side; there is no tenant-facing action for it.
