The exact precedence Staffintra uses to decide whether a clock-in counts as early, on time, or late.

What this does

Explains the real calculation behind an Early/Present/Late result, since it depends on more than a single fixed clock-in time.

Who can do this

Everyone can read this; only an administrator can change the underlying rule (Settings > Clock In).

What happens next

Staffintra resolves the applicable attendance rule for you specifically, checking in this order until it finds one: a rule set for you individually, then your role, then your department, then your work location, then your worker type, then finally the organization-wide default. That rule defines an expected clock-in start time and a grace period. If you clock in before the start time, you're Early; within the grace period after it, you're Present; after the grace period, you're Late.

If your workspace also uses location rules, your clock-in is separately checked against your assigned location's radius (unless you're marked exempt) before the time-based status is applied — being outside your assigned location is reported independently of whether you were on time.

Important notes

  • A more specific rule always wins over a broader one — if your department has a different start time than the organization default, your department's rule is what applies to you.

  • Time comparisons account for your local timezone, not a fixed server time.

Troubleshooting

  • You believe your status is wrong — ask your administrator to check Settings > Clock In for the rule that applies to your specific role/department/location — the organization-wide default is not always what applies to you.
