How attendance status (Early / Present / Late) is determined

The exact rules that decide whether a clock-in counts as Early, Present, or Late.

The system compares your clock-in time against your work schedule minus the grace period. The workspace timezone is the reference, so make sure it's set correctly (Settings > General).

Follow these steps to check the logic:

1. Compare clock-in to schedule start. Clock-in before start is Early.

2. Within the grace period after start, the record is Present.

3. After the grace period, the record is Late.

4. No record at all on a scheduled day marks the day Absent.

5. Clock-out before the schedule end (past the early-leave grace) flags an Early departure.

6. Clock-in with geofencing — outside the approved radius, the record may be flagged or blocked (see How geofencing and remote attendance work).

If you believe a status is wrong, check the workspace timezone and your schedule first, then request a correction.
