Troubleshooting ยท Audience: everyone

Why a clock-in you thought was on time shows as Late.

What this does

Covers the real reasons a clock-in shows Late when you didn't expect it to.

Who can do this

You can check the first two yourself; the actual rule can only be changed by an administrator.

What happens next

The organization-wide default clock-in time and grace period are almost never the only rule in play โ€” a more specific rule (set for you individually, your role, your department, your work location, or your worker type) always wins over the organization default, and it can have a different start time or grace period than the one you're assuming applies. Also check your device's timezone: Staffintra compares your clock-in against your local time, not a fixed server time, so an incorrect device clock or timezone can shift what looks like an on-time clock-in into Late.

Troubleshooting

  • You're sure the rule you know about should have applied โ€” ask your administrator to check Settings > Clock In for the specific rule resolved for you.

  • It only started happening recently, nothing else changed โ€” an administrator may have recently changed the applicable rule's start time or grace period.
