Set work hours, grace periods, and overtime rules before the first clock-in.

Attendance rules decide when someone is Early, Present, Late, or on Overtime. If you configure them before your team starts clocking in, the very first day's records are correct and no one has to fix anything retroactively.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings > Clock In.

  2. Set your work schedule — start time, end time, and working days.

  3. Set grace periods — how many minutes late before someone is marked Late, and how early departures are flagged.

  4. Set the overtime threshold — the hours after which time logged counts as overtime.

  5. Set the auto clock-out time — the system closes any open attendance at this time each day.

  6. Optional: enable geofencing so clock-in only works in approved locations. See How geofencing and remote attendance work.

  7. Click Save. New rules apply to future records.

Tell your team to clock in via the top-bar button on the dashboard (see How to clock in and clock out).
