How to configure classification rules and understand scope precedence
Label apps and sites as work or non-work, using the right scope and order.
Label apps and sites as work or non-work, using the right scope and order.
Classification decides what counts as productive activity. Rules can apply workspace-wide or to a department, workspace, or person — more specific scopes override broader ones.
Follow these steps:
Open Settings > Activity Tracking (or the classification surface in Productivity).
Create a rule for an application or website.
Choose the classification — work, non-work, or neutral.
Choose the scope — workspace-wide, department, workspace/project, or individual person.
Save. More specific scopes take precedence over broader ones, and the most specific matching rule wins.
Review samples — check My Productivity to confirm your sites/apps are classified as intended.
