macOS permissions for the Desktop Agent, explained

Why the agent asks for screen/accessibility access, and how to grant it safely.

macOS requires explicit permission before an app can observe the active application or input. The Desktop Agent asks for these so your tracking is accurate.

Follow these steps:

1. On first launch, macOS may block the agent — open System Settings > Privacy & Security.

2. Grant Accessibility / Screen Recording to the Desktop Agent when prompted. Without it, tracking is incomplete.

3. Restart the agent after granting permissions.

4. Confirm in the agent's status that it now reports normally (see What each Desktop Agent status means).

5. If the permission prompt disappeared, find the agent under the relevant privacy settings and enable it manually.

6. Re-run the flow after macOS updates, since updates occasionally reset permissions.
